Google Classroom and G Suite

Hello Families,

On Monday, we start our first day using Google Classroom and G Suite as our main learning platform. Below is the email sent to all families in Room 9 explaining our learning environment moving forward. CBE has a great information on G Suite for Education to help you navigate through these platforms.

Please keep your eyes out for a second email containing your child's password for the G Suite login.

I'm excited to start this journey with you all. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding the learning platform or the work period content.

Take care,

Ms. Carroll

Hi Families,

On Friday, you received a SchoolMessenger from Mrs. Jones detailing the availability of CBE G Suite for Education as a learning environment for students and teachers.

Your child’s login has been connected to our Google Classroom within CBE G Suite for Education. We will be using this platform, in addition to seesaw for our online classroom needs moving forward. Please hand in and share assignments via Google Classroom unless stated otherwise on the assignment. Please take some time to explore our Google Classroom and navigating between apps.

CBE information regarding G Suite for Education, including login information can be found here:

Your child’s login (username@educbe.ca) which was provided in the login information sent out before Spring Break. Each child’s password has been reset and you will receive an email with their new password in a separate email due to privacy.

Some students were instructed with login for specific apps before class cancellation occurred. This will be new for many, but surprisingly intuitive for students of this learning generation! Time and practice will be important in developing independence.

Our first week of learning tasks will be available on Google Classroom under Classwork. Each week under the Classwork section will contain the “Work Period” for the week. Please not this work can be completed at any time throughout the week and we encourage you to complete work in a way that best reflects the needs of your schedule.

I will be planning two Google Meet video chats this week to touch base with the students and give them an opportunity to chat with their classmates. This is optional and I will be sending more information out later this week.

Thank you again for your patience as take steps towards this new learning experience. I appreciate all the words of encouragement and support you have offered during this time.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and I will do my best to help.

Warm regards,

Molly Carroll
