First Week of School

 Dear Room 16 Families,

We have had an amazing first week together in the portables. We spent a lot of time getting to know our new space and building classroom community.

On Wednesday, we Saving Sam STEM challenge, responded to the letter we received from Ms. Carroll, and of course went outside for kickball.

On Thursday, Ms. Rooke and Ms. Durnford had a Welcome Back assembly, introducing us to all the LBS Staff, and sharing the book "The Peace Train" and building on the idea of peace and bring peace to our school, self, and lives. We also, worked with our table groups as detectives to solve the math mystery of the Superbad Super Hero. We applied our math skills to solve clues that let us to the villian.

Today, we went to music for the first time with Ms. Kawchuk. For gym, we went outside and played Capture the Pig with Room 17 and had a great conversation about good sportsmanship. We worked on a can we make it?, math problem that got us thinking about different operations that we know and applying them to different numbers. This math problem took some creativity but there we a lot of great answers! We also got a clock today, it was the highlight for sure!

We're looking forward to another great week!
