Thursday, September 24

 Hello Families,

Welcome to Room 3 :)

We have been very busy these past 3 weeks! We are continuing to settle into our new way of learning.

We have started our class read aloud The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. While reading this book we have been making connections to the waste in our world and adaptations.  This week we have been crating "inches" for each chapter and we created some Sandwich Poetry to make a prediction of what Roz (the robot) would do next.

In Math, we have been exploring increasing and decreasing number pattern. We explored what a pattern is, given examples and non-examples using the Frayer Model. We have also been working on organizing our math pages in a way that demonstrates our understanding.

We welcomed Fall this week by designing a Fall Favorites page. We found a sit spot in the school field and sat and observed for 5 minutes with no talking. This gave us time to observe the signs of Fall and think about what we like most about this season.

Finally, today we had our Terry Fox Run. Our class ran a total of 79 laps around the field to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation. Should you wish to make a donation online, please use the following link to donate through the Terry Fox website:

Let’s keep Terry’s dream to find a cure for cancer alive!
