Board Game Donations

Hello Families,

Lake Bonavista School is looking for donations of board games, card games, puzzles and coloring books. If you have any gently used games that your family has outgrown, would you consider donating them to the school?

We are particularly interested in ‘classic’ games, as well as any additional games or puzzles that are appropriate for approximately ages 5-12, multi-player, and support turn taking and collaboration.

Please only send games complete with all pieces, and that do not require batteries, plugging in, or access to computers/tablets or other technology.

Our wish-list includes, but is not limited to:

Puzzles under 100 pieces
Battleship
Checkers
Connect 4
Jenga
Variations of Memory
Chutes and Ladders

Math Games (Doubles and Doubles Plus One)

Hello Families,

Attached are some math games we have played in class. This are focused on student's learning their doubles in addition.

Tuesday, December 3rd

Hello Families,

We have been busy exploring memories and artifacts from a one-room school house. We compared items that we have a school and the items that people used in a one room school house 100 years ago. Next, we are going to be looking at items used in a kitchen 100 years ago.

We have been doing a lot of work in math lately. As a class we are discussing strategies we use to solve addition problems and we have began to explore balancing equations.

We have a bunch of projects in the works, we can'y wait to post them on Seesaw when they are completed.

In addition, room 9 is preforming in the Winter Concert on Thursday, December 12 @ 7:30pm. Students need to be at the school at 7:10pm if they are performing. For the Winter Concert,
we are looking for a few donations of the following items in order to create some of the set.

  • Wrapping paper – sufficient to wrap large and medium sized boxes
  • Scrapbook paper appropriate to make snowflakes

If you have any donations, please send them to school.

Important Dates:

Dec. 6 - Blue and White Day

Dec.12 - Winter Concert

Dec. 19 - Last day of school before winter break

Thank you,

Ms. Carroll
