Monday, November 30th

 Hello Families,

There has been a lot going on in Room 3!

First, we are observing some vegetables that we have had in a terrarium since Halloween. They have made quite the transformation over the past month.

Next, our new classroom pets are doing very well. We are learning a ton about Isopods and Red Wiggler Worms. We have explore their anatomy, life cycles, and predators.

In addition, we have been working on procedural writing. We have been working on a How to Use Dash piece of writing to inform other student have to use the robot. We have made planning pages and used the planning page as a tool in our writing. As a class, we talked about how to elaborate on each step of our writing to help the reader understand.

Finally, we have been exploring infographics and how they are used to share information. We have been working as a class to understand what are the important parts of an infographic, so we can apply that understanding when we create our own. We have began to look at two waste reduction programs which we will eventually put our understanding of infographic into action.

Important Dates:
Dec 3 - Pajama Day (no stuffed animals, blankets, or pillows)
Dec 4 - PD Day

Remembrance Day Virtual Assembly

Dear Parents,

Rooms 16 and 17 are hosting a virtual assembly for LBS students on November 10th at 10:40 am, in honour of Remembrance Day.

Did you know that every year from the last day of October until November 11th, tens of millions of Canadians wear a poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada's veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

Students will be given a poppy on November 10th and can give a donation at the school office. If you would like to support out local veterans, the Legion is encouraging people to donate online this year. Please follow the link: https://legion.ca/donations to donate to the Legion's Poppy Fund.

Thank you from Ms. Mumford & Ms. Burnham's students.
